You have some questions and I have some answers.
I offer telehealth & in person, & invite you to schedule a free 15-minute Zoom with me to see if I’m the right fit for your therapy needs+goals. Starting therapy for the first time or with a new person can feel weird to be perfectly honest. My hope is that you can get an idea about how I work as a therapist so you feel comfortable.

Frequently asked questions
My clients describe me as
I aim to make the experience authentic & validating for those I work with. I like to balance humor with reflection, encouragement with accountability
What my approach is like
I approach therapy sessions with a more relaxed style and use a variety of techniques to inform how I support you. I value practical self care and coping strategies, honoring our roots, and teaching my clients about how their body and brain work.
In a more “jargony” way to describe my approach, I use a mix of CBT, DBT, mindfulness practices, art, music, psychoeducation, harm reduction, light somatic work, and narrative therapy.
Believe it or not, you do know and have intuition of what's best for you, so we'll spend our time working to get the echoes of naysayers out of your head and amplifying the encouragement from yourself and loved ones
How I’m able to show up fully for my clients
I think it's SO important for us therapists to have a consistent self care-decompress practice. That being said, I enjoy time with my mini, husband and loved ones, a gym sesh, live music, a solid NY style pizza, and naps.
Since I encourage my clients to have boundaries for themselves, I practice what I preach and ensure I have a balance of work and life that doesn’t burn me out.
What is my rate?
My rate for a 50 minute session is $200
This rate is a reflection of the clinical experience I bring to my clients and is comparable to the rate of therapists in my area. If you’re interested in learning more about why therapy rates are what they are, this is a wonderful article from Thrizer.

Every session is an investment into a healthier you, and you’re worth it.
Do I offer sliding scale/Pay-What-You-Can (PWYC)?
As an equity practice, I do have a limited number of sliding scale/PWYC spots open, and the tiers are inspired by Cunningfolk & Hawthorne’s “Green Bottle” model.
Tier 3- Sprouting ($170): some stress for meeting basic needs and can meet them more than half of the time; I have had some dept but am not impact by it; I have a job; I have limited access to financial savings; I can buy new items every now and then; I can take time off from work for a sick day and sometime a “Me”-day
Tier 2- Radicle Roots ($140): Stress about meeting basic needs and at least half of the time I’m meeting them; I have some debt but it doesn’t impact my ability to meet my basic needs too much; I have a job or am unemployed (not by choice) from a tech company; I sometimes have reliable transportation; I may have access to financial savings; I can go thrifting every now and then; I could take time off from work for a sick day, but may have a financial impact from it
Tier 3- Imbibition ($120): frequent stress about meeting basic needs (food, housing, transportation) and don’t always meet them; I have debts that keep me from meeting my basic needs; I rent lower-end properties or have several housemates; I don’t have a car or have limited access to a car and gas; I’m underemployed or unemployed (not by choice) from a non tech company; I qualify for public aid assistance like WIC, SNAP, or MediCal; I can’t take time off from work for a sick day due to the financial impact from it or fear of being fired.
Do I offer corporate workshops and mental health consultation?
I definitely do (and lowkey love diving into topics to find all the fascinating info to tailor it to the group I’m working with)! Workshops start at $600 and depend on topic, length, and audience–this would be solidified after a consultation. Mental health consultation rates are determined following the needs identified in the the first consultation meeting.
Initial consultation fee: $250/hour
Do I offer parent coaching and consultation?
Yes! From working in schools for over a decade, I love working with parents/caregivers/families/relatives so they can better respond to the needs of their dynamic child.
My rate is $400 for 1 hour together, up to 2 hours of resource finding, and then 30 minutes for sharing back and debriefing the resources with the family.
Do I meet in person/virtually/both?
All of the above! Due to geographic location, traffic, timing, and just life being “lifey”, I’m flexible with meeting my clients in person at my office in Santa Clara, virtually, or alternating depending on what works best for your schedule
How often do I meet with clients?
I highly recommend weekly because having consistency is really important for improvement. It’s the same as learning any new skill or training for a marathon, consistency is key.
Cancellation policy
I ask for 48 hours notice to cancel an appointment. Anything within the 48 hours will be charged at the session fee rate. I do have one “oops fee” late cancellation waiver that clients can use once a year.
Good Faith Estimate
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call (800) 985-3059
